Description
Adult Primary Care is a symptom-based integrated clinical management tool using a series of algorithms and checklists to guide the management of common symptoms and chronic conditions in adults. APC has been developed using the approved clinical policies and guidelines issued by the National Department of Health. It is intended for use by all health care practitioners working at the primary care level in South Africa.
Course Design
The course is offered via eLearning using lectures, videos, exercises and tests. This course is facilitated by leading-edge faculties in the field.
Assessment
The principal objectives of this course are:
- To empower health care workers to stay abreast with the management of most common chronic diseases including HIV care, pregnancy and urgetn situations.
- To improve the standards of medical practice and patient care.
- Participants are continually assessed for participation, knowledge tests, exercises, application via case studies, and assignments.
- At the end of the course, participants are expected to complete the final evaluation.
Certification
Participants who complete all course materials, exercises, case studies and pass all tests with an average mark of 70% will receive a certificate of completion from AQuaH Training School.

The course is aimed at Primary health care workers (Doctors, Nurses, Pharmacists, Clinical Associates) who wish to improve and update their clinical skills and competence in the management of Chronic medical disorders..
